The Final Stretch!

I'm in my final stretch and finding it really hard. I barely sleep at night with my belly being so heavy and the need to pee every couple hrs. Also, just went through two days of major heart burn during the night, therefor spend couple hrs here and there sitting in bed reading stuff on Baby Centre.

My babies are a combined weight of 10lbs plus. Causing a lot of stress of my body. I've had cramping and lower back pain.  But nothing that sticks around :(

Robbie and I cleaned the entire house this weekend and now I feel like I want nothing to do with company. I'm cooped up here and just waiting.

I'm also having a lot of pressure between the legs as my tummy is right there.

I'm glad you're able to relax right now as its super important for babies. But because you have two, for sure you'll be feeling them a lot more then just a singleton. I went out for lunch with my mom, aunt, cousin and his daughter last week and they couldn't believe how much my tummy was rocking side to side lol

Here's me today. My belly button is starting to stick out lol

The bump in review and updates

Well my end is near and I can't wait!  My body is to it's max capacity I think. I'm hurt all over an don't sleep well at all.

I'm actually going to the Drs tomorrow for my 34 weeks ultra sound. Can't wait to hear what they'll say. Wishful thinking is that I'm dilated and ready. Hehehe. I'll keep you posted.

Appointment was ok. As the babies grow, you see less and less on the screen. It's more like a 'mishui' of body parts lol

They had some difficulties with measuring the girls due to their positioning. But it's not worrisome. Baby A is head down presenting ready to go and B is still transversed and also facing down ready for her sister to exit.

Because I'm at 34, they stop doing the internal ultra sound since I'm technically not at risk anymore so no concern for steroid shot.   Babies are moving great and were showing signs of practicing breathing already :) weird but cool.

We're ready :)

Major Complaining lol

Hey Roxanne!

How was your trip and flight?? Hope all went well

I'll be at 33 weeks tomorrow and so far so good for the little ones.  I've just been feeling super tired lately and everything gets on my nerves lol.

People who keep trying to compare a single pregnancy to twins, you will see pretty quick it's not comparable. Also, always telling me that I'm super tiny isn't helping. Especially that I'm carrying 8.5 lbs of babies which is what people deliver and I have a good 4 weeks to go. Wow! Oh and you guys aren't stressed cuz you have no idea what you're getting into. How nice?? And the famous question, when are the girls gonna come out?? I'm no psychic and so far it's natural so how am I suppose to know?? If it changes, I'll for sure let you know but asking every two days isn't helping. Haha that's my rant.

I think being pregnant turned me into a b***h.

At least I know you'll understand. :)

Hi Mylene! I was just about to shut off the computer and head home! But I was thinking of checking in with you soon!

The flights were awful, one was an overnight and I didn't sleep at all, the one on the way back was delayed 5 hours so we didn't get home until 4 a.m. and I had work at 9! UGH! BUT nothing bad happened, everyone seems to be doing good, I drank a ton of water and wore some compression socks, seemed to help. I am 15 weeks this Thursday. 23 to go.

The CONSTANT QUESTION is "were they natural" and "do twins run in your family?" well..'yes I had sex with my husband and got pregnant with twins, is that what you mean by natural?' At least I do have the answer of if they run in my family LOL LOL. We also get a lot of "how long were you trying" which I think is weird - why do people want to know about my sex life so bad?!?! lol

You really are an inspiration!! Sorry to hear you are so tired, but you are in the home stretch! 33weeks!!!! enjoy the sleep and relaxing now while you can. I can't wait to see all of the cute generation 3 babies!

Our good news this week is I think we found the perfect day care! And they are reasonably priced and near home!! I can't believe how lucky it was to find them. Our friend's daughter goes there so they got a good recommendation. What do you guys plan to do - nanny or day care or staying home?

Keep me posted!!

Looking good at 15 weeks!!

That really sucks about your plane! Wow. A

And I do remember having to answer those weird question about 'we're they natural twins'.  And the how long have you been trying. Haha People seem to care about your bedroom business for some odd reason.

It's funny how people tells you in the start how big you are and it'll slowly change to Wow you're really not big for twins lol

I have 3 weeks to go. Give or take. And the closer I get to the finish line, the less patient I have for unplaced comments. People don't seem to understand the tolls it takes on your body. And my white flag was raised at 8 weeks lol

Alright, no more complaining. But I'm hoping a great pregnancy for both of you :)

Nursery Photos and an Update

You've asked for room pics so here they are!! I was able to 'complete' the rooms after my shower and have everything organized. Or at least as good as it gets till the girls arrive. :)

Had another appointment today. I'm at 32 weeks and the girls are doing great. Moving A LOT! And both weigh in at 4lbs and 4.5lbs. Baby A is in place to come out and B is transversed. She's pretty much in my ribs and the technician was shocked that I'm still walking and breathing fine lol.

Now I have 2 appointment left before they'll consider inducing at 37 weeks. If I get there :)

July Update and Belly Pic!

Displaying Attachment-1

I don't remember when my ribs started spreading..but i do know i can't feel them anymore.  Baby B is over my ribs popping out her little head and wow…painful!

But i do remember that my tummy popped around 8 weeks cuz i could barely fit in my work clothes..lol  I had to loosen my bullet vest and duty belt.

Knock on wood..but so far, no stretch marks..  I should take a belly pic and send it.  I'm now at 31+3 weeks so yeah..5 weeks to go! :)

We just bought our stroller yesterday actually.  We did a lot of research and LOTS of double strollers don't fit two car seats on them.  It's meant for two kids different age.  So we bought Baby Jogger City Select with the Britax B-Safe car seats.  Its amazing.  We were also considering the Britax B-Ready Stroller but the way the two seats were, we prefered the placement of City Select.  Britax's back seat was under vrs City's back seat in higher.

So far so good with my health.  Not sure if i mentioned it or not since i really don't like people knowing this, but i did get diagnosed with digestible diabetes which means i need to check my sugars.  This is commons for twin pregnancies.  Heads up for that :)  Apart from that..i'm terribly slow! haha and heavy.  Can't wait for the girls to come out!

I saw your Ultra sound pics.  See that you have a nice collection already..hehe  I'll have to send you mines so you can see the difference.  Too cute!!

Martine is about to blow any day now and since I'm off work we're trying to spend more time together.  Which is great cuz she was gone for so long.  Lots to catch up

Too bad you're not closer.  I do have Skype if ever you wanna add me.  Should be under this email.  Would love to chat and see that belly progress  :)

Some WILD News...

Roxanne Crocket Roxanne@alumni.emerson.edu

7/14/13
to Mylene
Hi Mylene!

I wanted to wish you a happy happy happy shower today! I hope someone sends lots of pictures of all of the adorable twin girl baby stuff you guys get!

And also wanted to give you some news!  Knowing my mom and how excited she is, this news probably did not stay quiet for long LOL

So I am guessing there was something in the water at Stephane's wedding, or some major dominant genetics in the Casault family - but my husband and I are also having twins! I am 12 weeks tomorrow, and everything is looking really good, they passed all of the tests for Downs syndrome (required since I am 36) and have all of their little legs and arms and good heart beats and are already kicking each other (not feeling them yet, only on ultrasound). Due January 28, but Doc thinks Dec 27 (though we hope to make it to January 1 so they don't have to be Christmas babies AND share a birthday, awful)

We will have to email a lot because I am going to want to hear about everything - I was in a lot of shock when we first found out and it took a lot of time to adjust to the news.  Just wondering if you went through anything like that? I am still terrified at the next 26 weeks, and hoping to make it to 26 weeks. Also scared to gain 50 lbs ha ha!!! (which has been really hard with the nausea, I was getting yelled at by the doctor because I was actually losing weight at first, but now I am up almost 8 yay!)

Anyway, I think we will have a lot to talk about. ;)

I hope everything goes great the next few weeks for you, and will be really praying that you make it to 35 weeks and have two squishy healthy babies!

So much love
XOXOXO

Hey Roxanne!!!

Congrats on this amazing news ! How exciting.  I just hope I didn't scare you too much with all my miseries hehe.  We will for sure need to catch up on this and don't be shy to ask questions :)

I guess we must have shared the same drink at Stephane's wedding haha.  Apparently twins are strong in grandma s family and girls carry the genes.  When I looked back, we are only four cousines who had or will be having babies and we're two carrying twins. CRAZY!

When Robbie and I found out we were having twins, I was at 8 weeks and boy we were shocked! I started balling and Robbie held his head in disbelief. Up to this day I'm still in shock I have two babies in my tummy.  Talk about weight gain, you really wanna know? I'm at 30 weeks and gained about 45 lbs. barf! Lol

As of week 6, I started being super nauseous.  Week 8, started vomitting.  That's when I started on Diclectins.
My nausea lasted till week 16 then I caught a cold. Worst thing when preggo cuz you can't take anything!  So I was stuffed up for 4 weeks.
Week 20 started, then I noticed I had bad water retention in my hands causing numbness in my fingers and pain in arms.  This hasn't left me :(

Anyways, hopefully your pregnancy will be WAY better then mine.
Do you know what kinda twins you're having? Identical or fraternal?
I carry mono-di twins, which means two amniotic sac and one placenta. So they share blood vessels which makes me high risk for twin to twin transfer.  You'll learn all these things pretty quickly :)

Well I can't wait to hear more! This is so exciting!

Your little cousine

Sorry this got longer than I expected:

I feel so spoiled because I will have you to help me through the next 5 months! Seriously - YOUR pregnancy is giving me hope!! Every book I read is SO scary with everything that can go wrong and the constant threat of potential bed rest and hospital bed rest! So to hear about you still walking around and attending your shower at 34ish weeks....that gives me a LOT of hope!!! So no, don't worry, you didn't scare me, all of the books did!

We will have to warn all of the other girls about this potential twin thing ;) And apparently its even more common the older you get.
Our first u/s was at 5 weeks and we saw one black empty dot. So two weeks later we went back, and I was feeling SO good, (no nausea or symptoms) I was 100% certain they would not see a baby at all. So when we saw the heartbeat, I just cried tears of joy. THEN....we saw another baby. I said "Oh shit" and got so scared. My husband says he felt like an unmarried 17 yr old with no money lol lol like, what do we do now lol I spent the day downloading twin pregnancy books and getting more and more scared, but he got really excited about the idea and was a good cheer leader. I spent the next 4 - 5 days crying and really wondering what we were going to do, and worried something would go wrong.

Now that we are at 12 weeks and things are going well, and both babies are doing awesome (and one is kicking the other in the head), I am feeling a lot better and excited.  But still scared about months 6, 7, and 8. Still definitely in shock that there are two!!

45 lbs!!!! Its ok though - you will lose it so fast! My doc wants me to gain 50!! WTH. I have already gained 8 but he is not happy, he wants more lol.

I am so sorry about your nausea, I have been pretty lucky and did not have any vomiting, but have been SUPER tired and will even go sleep in my car at work at 2 pm just to get through the day. UGH!! that is awful about your cold!!! I have really bad migraines and I can't take my migraine medication while pregnant, so a few of them have come and I just have to deal with them :( Its pretty bad.

My fingers are already like sausages. I bruised my tail bone a few years ago and that old injury started hurting really bad right away, which seems weird. Now my sciatic (nerve in the butt) in my right side has been hurting so bad at night when I sleep. So trying to prepare for 26 more weeks of that and worst - ugh!

I hope my pregnancy is as good as yours!! ;) Don't be too down - better than hospital bed rest right?

We know we have two amniotic sacs for sure - we are going to a specialist Tuesday to see about placenta, but are fairly sure they are di-di. The doc thinks so because they have been the exact same size at each visit, so no vanishing twin or twin to twin transfer. I will attach pictures! You really do learn ALL of this weird twin-only stuff quick, right? Its mind blowing and a lot to handle all at once.

I am so so so grateful to have such a close resource who shares half of my DNA!! LOL I hope our Casault birthing hips will get us both through. The Casault are known for making lots of babies, we are just doing it all at once!

ok I will keep in touch for sure!!!

Don't worry about the length of your email, any questions or concerns, ask away.  I may not be able to answer them all and my way of coping can be total opposite of yours but know that I'll be there for you. :)

I'm only at 30 + 5 weeks pregnant so I'm still not completely out of the danger.  Now I have to rest lots and control my diet.  I've been diagnose with gestational diabetes and needs to monitor my sugar intakes. I have a HUGE fear of needles and in 27 years, I've never had one blood work done.  And now, at 29 over the past 7 months, I've had to have 5 blood work and 1 shot ( winroh?). This is because I'm Rh negative and my husband is Rh positive.  You only need that shot around 26-28 weeks pregnant.

Anyways, now everyday, I have to stab myself with a needle to check my blood sugar.  What a bummer!  I cried for 3 hrs the first night as I couldn't press the damn button. That's when I knew I've had enough with this whole pregnancy. But I'm doing this for the girls.  I'll need to write them a note on all the crap I went through for them. Haha

Say congrats to your hubby! It's a huge news to take on. I know you'll be in a great care with your Drs. I also know how scary all the info on twins can be.  At my first Dr appointment, he started the appointment by saying all the possible wrong thing that could happen so that we were aware of the dangers.  I to had to stop reading the Internet as I was freaking out and we need to stay stress free for babies.  I joined BabyCentre Canada and there's a group there with people who had or expecting multiples.  So any questions or concerns i had, i asked without feeling dumb.  Also it's nice to hear it from people who went through it.

I had to remove my rings at 2 months pregnant cuz of swelling so I totally understand the sausage feeling.

And rest anywhere or anytime you need.  I remember passing out in my office for 30 min or so.  So go with the flow. Second trimester is not as bad but boy it comes again during the third. My poor legs feel like they are working out every time I walk, bend over and standing in one spot, impossible task now.lol

As for the vaginal birth, my Drs are pushing for it since baby A is well placed and I have no issues.  I just don't want any needles..lol

Write anytime. I'm here:)

Mylene

I think my emails are as long as yours. lol

Got it, for some reason I thought you were farther along, but 30+ weeks is NOT bad! Thank goodness not much further to go! Yeah, I am learning that if you don't like needles, don't get pregnant. I have had about 6 now, but I don't have a fear, just hate them. I don't look when they do them. I could never prick myself!! Ugh terrifying. Good for you. I am o positive thank goodness - no RH shots needed.

I read that it is so typical to have gestational diabetes with two - so I am sure to look forward to that (NOT) down the road. My mom had it with Stephanie as well. Not much you can do with twins, since we have to gain so much weight. Its not like eating salad for each meal will work.

I am glad to hear the dangers to know what to watch for but for crying out loud do they have to tell them all at once? I was a MESS from weeks 6 to 11 when the doc finally said "You will give birth to twins" - was so scared something would happen to one or both in between the appointments. I joined thebump they have a multiples board, and I also joined a twin club in my community which was good. Lots of good advice to not be so scared. Hard to listen but you know.

My rings are off too! wah! so sad.

Oh man for the delivery I wish they would just put me to sleep then wake me up when it is over - I am TERRIFIED of surgery! Or either delivery for that matter. I knew once we got pregnant it would have to come out, but yeah, I have not been looking forward to that part no matter which way it goes, and if its one or more, still horrifying!

ok, but today things are good and I actually am feeling a lot less nauseous and eating ok. So taking it day by day, its not so bad! :)

Hope you are good - will check in after my scan tomorrow!
