Visit with Grandpa

Bonne nouvelle! Les jumelles ne sont plus dans les incubateurs. Elles
pourront toutes les deux aller à la maison demain. Mylène va bien aussi. On les a visité hier soir à
l'hopital. C'était le fun de pouvoir les prendre dans nos bras. Elles
sont tellement petites et vraiment adorables!!!! Voici quelques photos de
nous avec les petites!!! Bonne fin de semaine. Lisette et Pierrre

Birth Story

Nothing went smoothly lol.

So it all started when my husband and I went to bed on the 20th around 10:00pm. I felt a huge pop down near baby A so I went to the bathroom to discover I was leaking a lot of fluid. Went back to my husband to let him know that we need to leave.

Got to the hospital around 10:45 and went to triage to make sure it was in fact my amniotic fluid.  I hoped so since I was pretty much sitting in a pool in the car :(. After a positive, they checked me and was at 2.5-3.

Was admitted to a nice room with Amazing nurses!  At around two am, my contractions were 5 min apart so they decided it was time for an epidural since I kinda had no choice in case an emergency csection was done. And my fear of needles didn't help the more I waited.  To be honest, it was really painful. Same for IV. Sorry

At 7am, was checked again and was still at 2.5-3. I was discouraged!! So they installed oxytocin?  By 10:00, I was at 6, and noon 8. I was happy. Except that the strangest thing happened to me and my epidural only worked on the outside. I started feeling all the pressures and needing to push. It was awful. By one, I was fully dilated and started to push. Did that for 35 min until they wheeled me in operating room to continue. The place was packed!!

By 2:08 baby Joëlle was born head first (4.5lbs)  and 2:13 baby Annabelle (5lbs) was pulled out by her feet. Ouch!! Both had to be send to NICU due to TTTS as Joëlle was lacking blood and Annabelle had very low blood sugar.  In the mean time, they had issues with delivering my placenta and once that was out, I had an hemorrhage. Needles to say my husband  was sent out of the room and he followed the girls while I stayed there am extra 1.5 hrs being stuffed with thing to stop the hemorrhage. I was freaking out and really in pain.

Anyways. Since I was given lots of medications, I was wheeled to my room and got to meet baby Joëlle for the first time at 7:00pm. Now it's 12:49am and i still haven't seen baby Annabelle :( I feel so bummed.

Sorry for long story but everyone is doing fine. :)
My husband was amazing in supporting me :)

An Announcement!

Well yesterday was indeed a full moon but Annabelle and Joelle decided to wait till this afternoon to join us. Joelle was the first out @ 2:08pm and Annabelle came soon after at 2:13pm they are both doing well however they will have to spend a little bit of time in the NICU. Mylene is an absolute warrior for getting through the last 24 hours - she is also doing very well - I am so proud of her!

The Final Stretch!

I'm in my final stretch and finding it really hard. I barely sleep at night with my belly being so heavy and the need to pee every couple hrs. Also, just went through two days of major heart burn during the night, therefor spend couple hrs here and there sitting in bed reading stuff on Baby Centre.

My babies are a combined weight of 10lbs plus. Causing a lot of stress of my body. I've had cramping and lower back pain.  But nothing that sticks around :(

Robbie and I cleaned the entire house this weekend and now I feel like I want nothing to do with company. I'm cooped up here and just waiting.

I'm also having a lot of pressure between the legs as my tummy is right there.

I'm glad you're able to relax right now as its super important for babies. But because you have two, for sure you'll be feeling them a lot more then just a singleton. I went out for lunch with my mom, aunt, cousin and his daughter last week and they couldn't believe how much my tummy was rocking side to side lol

Here's me today. My belly button is starting to stick out lol

The bump in review and updates

Well my end is near and I can't wait!  My body is to it's max capacity I think. I'm hurt all over an don't sleep well at all.

I'm actually going to the Drs tomorrow for my 34 weeks ultra sound. Can't wait to hear what they'll say. Wishful thinking is that I'm dilated and ready. Hehehe. I'll keep you posted.

Appointment was ok. As the babies grow, you see less and less on the screen. It's more like a 'mishui' of body parts lol

They had some difficulties with measuring the girls due to their positioning. But it's not worrisome. Baby A is head down presenting ready to go and B is still transversed and also facing down ready for her sister to exit.

Because I'm at 34, they stop doing the internal ultra sound since I'm technically not at risk anymore so no concern for steroid shot.   Babies are moving great and were showing signs of practicing breathing already :) weird but cool.

We're ready :)
